We would appreciate a few minutes of your time to let you know about the non-profit part of Guardian Angel Hospice, Guardian Angel Foundation. Guardian Angel Foundation is available to help and support you and your family as you begin life’s final journey. Guardian Angel Foundation understands this is a very difficult time for you and your loved one and you may be feeling a bit overwhelmed. We realize that you may have needs that may not be covered by the hospice benefit – this is where Guardian Angel Foundation can be of assistance.
Guardian Angel Foundation supports hospice patients and their families by providing items not covered by Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurance and other payer sources as well as patients and families who do not have hospice benefits. We provide a variety of items, such as:
- Lifeline medical alert monitors, baby monitors, smoke detectors and fire extinguishers
- Personal items such as lotion, shampoo, body wash and adult diapers
- Household items that include paper products, detergent, sheets, etc.
It is our hope to provide comfort and peace of mind during this disquieting time. While each of these items may seem like a small request, they help provide a sense of security and well-being for many patients and families.
When donated items are received from the community, we use those items to help others where the need is greatest. Monetary donations are used to purchase items not in our inventory and help to support the following services to our communities:
- Hospice/End-of-Life education throughout Central Indiana
- Camp Angel, a bereavement camp for young people ages 6-16
- Memorial Services to remember our loved ones
Throughout the year, Guardian Angel Foundation has fundraising and community events to benefit our programs. These events include Golf Outings in June and September; Circle of Angels membership drive in July; a Butterfly Run in August and the “November to Remember” Hospice Walk in November. We invite and encourage you and your family to participate in any of the programs or events we offer by attending or by becoming a volunteer.
Guardian Angel Foundation has worked to build relationships with many local businesses and organizations that are willing to give back and to provide assistance to members in our communities. Please don’t hesitate to contact Guardian Angel Foundation at 765.452.3034 if you have a need. We look forward to assisting and encouraging you and your loved one during your hospice journey.
